Life After the Revolution

William Lee

George Washington's slave and closest companion.
Granted his freedom at the end of the Revolutionary War. Washington left money in his will for William Lee's care in his old age.

Oliver Cromwell

In 1852, he was one of the last living soldiers of the Revolution.
